In one of the fascinating and controversial communities that grew up in Jerusalem under the leadership of Rabbi Eliezer Berland hides a heavy cloud. Eliezer Berland, the leader of the Shuvu Banim community that broke into the public consciousness following his conviction for sexual offenses, operated modesty guards for years, whose men were arrested after being suspected of burning bus stops, beating unmarried couples walking around public parks and hitting Arab homes in the Old City. Did the modesty guards go further?
